Job description

Ready to bring structural engineering projects to life through precise, high-quality BIM documentation?
We're looking for a talented Revit Specialist to join our team. This role sits at the intersection of technical craft and collaborative delivery - translating ideas from sketches and verbal direction into accurate, coordinated drawings that project teams depend on. If you take pride in clean models, sharp details, and getting it right, we want to hear from you!
Who We Are
We're Holmes US - a structural engineering firm that's anything but boring! With offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, and Boulder, and roots in New Zealand, we're known for taking on projects that make other firms say, "Wait, how did they do that?" We're growing our BIM capabilities and need someone who genuinely cares about the craft to join our team.
Your Impact
  • Provide BIM support across project teams, producing drawings from sketches, verbal instructions, and notes
  • Analyse input materials to determine the best approach for developing deliverables, working with minimal supervision
  • Create and manage Revit families that improve project efficiency and consistency
  • Manage submittal production for medium-sized projects and assist on medium/large projects
  • Collaborate with project leaders to coordinate consultant work and keep things moving
  • Contribute to the organisation of plans, sections, details, and elevations
  • Uphold office standards for design quality, production, and accuracy - including reviewing your own work
  • Manage distribution and filing of incoming and outgoing project documentation
  • Apply project research and understand and implement relevant software and operating systems

You'll Thrive Here If You Have
  • An A.A. degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent
  • 4+ years of structural drafting experience or related experience
  • Intermediate to advanced Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam skills, including the ability to create and manage Revit families
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including listening and questioning
  • Good analytical skills - you can assess risks and obstacles and offer practical solutions
  • Solid time management and a track record of meeting deadlines
  • Additional MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • A collaborative, detail-oriented mindset with a genuine commitment to supporting your project team

Why You'll Love It Here
🌎 Work That Matters
  • Support structural engineering projects that shape the communities we live and work in
  • Play a central role in delivering drawings and documentation that teams and clients rely on
  • Work across a variety of project types, scales, and complexity levels
  • Contribute to a firm that cares deeply about quality and impact

📍 Choose Your Base
  • San Francisco - High-profile projects in one of the most dynamic engineering markets in the US
  • Los Angeles - A vast and diverse market with no shortage of interesting work
  • Portland - A leader in sustainability and forward-thinking design
  • Seattle - A hub for innovative structural engineering in the Pacific Northwest

💪 Growth & Development
  • Expand your BIM skills across a broad range of project types and sizes
  • Regular professional development opportunities
  • Work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to a collaborative, growing team
  • Build lasting relationships across project teams and with external consultants

🎯 The Good Stuff
  • Flexible hybrid work environment
  • Work-life balance that we actually take seriously
  • Supportive, collaborative culture with an international team
  • Regular team events and activities

Benefits Offered
Depending on your employment status, benefits may include:
  • Hybrid work model (3 days in office per week)
  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D, Short-term and Long-term Disability and other voluntary plans
  • Flexible Spending Accounts for Medical & Childcare
  • Health Savings Account
  • Pet Insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Paid Time off - Vacation, Sick, Personal Leave, Family Leave for new parents, and Community Service time
  • Paid Holidays
  • Pre-Tax Commuter Transit
  • 401(k) retirement savings with Company contribution
  • Company sponsored events
  • Diversity/Inclusion programs and initiatives

Compensation
Estimated starting salary $66,500 - $102,000 USD + biannual profit share bonus potential.
