Magnusson Klemencic Associates (MKA) is a 185-person structural and civil engineering firm with a century of practice in Seattle, Washington. We're seeking an experienced Building Information Modeler to join our structural engineering team and contribute to complex projects across the United States and internationally.


This is a full-time, in-office position in our Downtown Seattle office location.


You'll work alongside highly skilled structural engineers and modeling professionals on large commercial, institutional, and residential buildings.


Responsibilities

MKA’s Building Information Modelers produce Revit models and structural engineering drawing sets and can advance complex drawings and models. As part of a collaborative project team, you will:

  • Produce detailed Revit models and structural drawing sets aligned with MKA standards
  • Coordinate closely with engineers and BIM team members to communicate technical information
  • Work independently and collaboratively to meet multiple deadlines with accuracy
  • Assist in developing complex models and resolving interdisciplinary modeling conflicts
  • Support departmental initiatives and contribute to a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Uphold company presentation and brand standards across all deliverables
  • Continue to grow skills through training and increased responsibility
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education in architecture, engineering, or BIM design technology
  • 8+ years of professional experience using Revit
  • A/E/C industry experience (structural engineering preferred) 
  • Strong understanding of construction documents and print reading 
  • Ability to interpret engineering markups, calculations, and sketches
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Rhino + Grasshopper, Revit + Dynamo, or coding for custom Revit add-ins
  • Experience modeling concrete, steel, and mass timber construction types
  • Experience coordinating or overseeing work of other modelers
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience training or mentoring team members
  • Experience modeling structures with Tekla
