Job description

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently looking for a Senior Project Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services team in the Maumee, OH office! To be considered, we ask that candidates are a licensed engineer. 

Our electrical engineers are experienced in a wide range of projects, including power generation & distribution for low voltage and medium voltage, lighting systems, fire alarms, security, and access control systems for advanced manufacturing, office buildings, complex warehouses, and other national clients. Our professional engineers evaluate how design impacts both short-term capital costs and long-term operational costs.


Responsibilities
  • Prepare concept, design development, permit, and construction documents of electrical drawings and electrical specifications using software including, but not limited to Revit, AutoCAD, AGI Lighting software, Power study (SKM, EasyPower, ETAP).
  • Assist in verifying that all design aspects comply with local code and apply code provision.
  • Meet with clients to coordinate technical and engineering needs that meet their requirements and standards.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations and documents.
  • Collaborate with Architects, Engineers and contractors to provide a coordinated design.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) by performing peer reviews, QAQC on projects prior to submission, and coordinating with supervisor or electrical department leader.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering required.
  • 8+ years of electrical engineering design experience required of building electrical systems.
  • Licensed Engineer in Ohio required.
  • Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and IEEE standards.
  • Advanced level of Revit, AGI Lighting, and power studies software skills preferred.
  • Design experience with electrical power system equipment/components, such as Switchgear, transformers, panelboards, generators, grounding, etc. 
  • Willing to travel to client location(s), as needed.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
