Job description

Our client is seeking anย Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex building electrical systems across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer who enjoys technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating across disciplines to deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs from concept through construction.

The position offers exposure to a wide range of project types and the opportunity to work within a collaborative, growth-oriented engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of electrical systems from conceptual planning through construction documentation
  • Develop and evaluate electrical solutions using sound engineering judgment and creative problem-solving
  • Perform detailed electrical analyses and calculations to support design decisions
  • Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and field teams to maintain design intent throughout construction
  • Review and apply applicable local, state, and federal codes and standards
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
  • Support quality control reviews and ensure consistency with internal design standards
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting schedule and budget expectations
  • Participate in construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in building electrical design
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state where the role is based
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and controls, grounding/bonding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience with power system analysis software and lighting calculation tools
  • Ability to independently manage design efforts with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage deadline-driven workloads across multiple projects
  • Healthcare, federal, or mission-critical project experience is a plus, but not required.
