General Purpose of the Job
The ROPS Manager of Product is a key leadership role responsible for shaping the vision, strategy, and execution of products that power DaVita's Revenue Operations (ROPS). This individual will lead a team to implement and enhance business systems and processes, driving significant improvements across multiple business teams.
This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, deep analytical rigor, user empathy, and team leadership. The Manager, Product will translate complex operational needs, user insights, and business objectives into a clear product roadmap, defining and managing Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to ensure every feature delivered advances business outcomes and improves the teammate experience. As a people leader, this manager will also be responsible for coaching and developing a team of analysts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy, Vision, & Roadmap
  • Define and communicate the product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and company goals.
  • Develop and manage the product roadmap, prioritizing features and initiatives based on user needs, business value, and strategic priorities.
  • Partner with stakeholders across business, IT, and leadership to understand operational objectives, key results, and complex business problems.
  • Own and manage product backlogs, guiding the team in feature prioritization with a clear connection to the overall strategy.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to frame feature value, define success signals, and gain insights for adoption.

2. Product Discovery, Analysis, & Definition
  • Lead the team in conducting discovery through structured user research, interviews, and journey mapping to identify pain points and behavioral drivers.
  • Oversee the development of detailed documentation, including business requirements, process flows, use cases, and user stories that outline problems and opportunities.
  • Perform and guide complex analyses related to systems, such as assessing the ROI of a change, and synthesize takeaways that connect to broader business objectives.
  • Support the framing, development, and testing of assumptions related to user value, feasibility, and business viability.

3. Product Development, Project & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead working sessions and facilitate interactions between business teams, product, and IT to ensure smooth delivery and alignment.
  • Serve as an expert in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), guiding business teams and directing next steps to progress projects.
  • Proactively manage stakeholder communications, keeping partners informed of progress, risks, and changes to the roadmap.
  • Function as the business lead for IT communication, facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and validate production deployments.
  • Track thematic product metrics (e.g., user happiness, adoption, ROI) and report insights for iteration and continuous improvement.

4. Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of system analysts, providing direction, coaching, and support for their work.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture centered on innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Manage teammate performance, including goal setting, evaluations, and professional development.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or commensurate work experience is required.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 6+ years of applicable work experience is required. Experience in product management, consulting, strategy, or operations is highly relevant.
    • Experience managing other teammates or leading project teams is strongly preferred.
    • Advanced knowledge and experience working within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and with agile methodologies are required.
    • Experience in healthcare and/or the revenue cycle is preferred.
    • Experience conducting user interviews, usability tests, or workflow analysis is preferred.

  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar project management and documentation software.
    • Proficiency in one or more analytical or report-building tools such as Excel, SQL, or Tableau is preferred.

  • Core Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and process improvement skills.
    • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple, easily digestible manner to a range of audiences.
