Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk I to support our daily accounting operations. This entry-level role works under the guidance of senior accounting staff to perform a variety of clerical accounting and financial office support tasks, including data entry and coding, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory tracking, revenue collection and cash management.

Responsibilities also include coding transactions according to established procedures, reviewing financial information to ensure accurate reporting, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining organized records and filing systems. This role requires strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to meet critical deadlines.

What You Will Do
  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
  • Enter and maintain financial data in accounting systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable transactions, including processing invoices, recording payments and reconciliation within the record-keeping system.
  • Review documents for accuracy and report discrepancies to a supervisor.
  • Help maintain inventory and cash records by tracking and recording transactions.
  • Perform basic calculations using spreadsheets and other accounting software tools.
  • Assist with preparing routine financial reports and maintaining organized records of transactions.
  • Work together as a team to complete daily and monthly tasks so that time sensitive deadlines and overall goals are met.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Seeking candidates 18 years of age or older with high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • An Associateโ€™s Degree or relative work experience in clerical, administrative, or entry-level accounting is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and willingness to learn financial processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Experience with accounting software and databases is a plus.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work under supervision, and complete tasks accurately and on time.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple routine tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a structured work environment.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and maintains confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and company information.
  • Valid Type 3 Drivers License and reliable transportation required for work-related errands.
