Position Summary
We are seeking a Revenue Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team! The Revenue Accountant is responsible for percentage-of-completion (POC) revenue recognition, project profitability analysis, and financial performance reporting across all markets.
This role partners closely with project managers, office leaders, market leaders, regional directors and operations to ensure accurate revenue recognition, reliable forecasting, and strong project financial performance.
Responsibilities
Revenue & Profitability
  • Manage monthly percentage-of-completion revenue calculations for assigned projects.
  • Review project budgets, labor projections, consultant costs, and estimates-at-completion (EACs) to support accurate revenue recognition.
  • Partner with Project Managers to review project financial health and identify risks related to scope, fee burn, labor overruns, and write-offs.
  • Prepare monthly project revenue, profitability, and backlog reporting for operational and executive leadership.
  • Support project reviews and financial performance meetings with office, market and regional leaders.
  • Identify and investigate revenue variances, budget overruns, and project margin erosion.
  • Assist with project closeout analysis and lessons learned regarding project financial performance.

Operational Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to Project Managers and Principals.
  • Provide training on project accounting policies, project financial management, and profitability drivers.
  • Support standardized project setup, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue recognition practices across offices.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Project Accounting teams to improve project financial visibility and controls.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 3-5+ years of project accounting and/or revenue accounting experience.
  • Experience within architecture, engineering, or professional services organization is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting, project-based revenue recognition, and project profitability metrics.
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint, Deltek Vision, or similar ERP/project accounting systems preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
