Job description

Your Daily Mission

Medical Records Technicians (MRT) are responsible for the retrieval and indexing of multiple medical records across various provider facilities and specialty groups at a pre-arraigned date and time. Visits and appointments are scheduled by Centauri’s Outreach Coordinating team. MRT’s are responsible for traveling to these locations, retrieve medical records for a list of specific patients, and maintain the integrity of the patient file. The retrieved documents are then securely uploaded into Centauri’s database according the physician/member combination.  MRT’s must ensure all retrieve files meet Centauri’s quality standards and that they adhere to all HIPAA guidelines throughout the retrieval process.

Candidates can expect the travel requirements to cover the state of New York.

Who You Are

 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience working in a professional office & fast-paced environment 
  • Familiar with components of standard Medical Records
  • Intermediate/Expert knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Proficient skills with MS Office and Windows operating system

 

The Reality of the Role

  • Retrieve records from assigned medical facilities using company provided equipment.
  • Process records and documentation according to Centauri Health Solution standards.
  • Provide end of day update and reports to supervisor after completing an assignment.
  • Maintains the stability and reputation of the provider facility by complying with all legal requirements
  • Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures
  • Return all Centauri Health Solution equipment upon contract term date
  • Adhere to all HIPAA standards and regulations.
