  • Shift Schedule: Mon - Fri, Day Shift; Night Call (5p-7a) on rotating weekdays and weekends
  • Reason for Coverage: Staff Vacancy (retirement)
  • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance Covered
PATIENT INFORMATION
  • Patient Demographics: 100% Adult
  • Average Daily Volume: 5-10 patients/day
  • Admissions: Yes, 0-3/day
  • Rounding: Yes
  • Case Mix: Cardiothoracic Surgery, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, aneurysm repair, etc.

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
  • General CV/thoracic surgery - open
  • Coronary artery bypass surgery - on pump
  • Valvular repair
  • Valvular replacement

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Board: Board Certified PA (required)
  • Licenses: Active WA License highly preferred; will consider those obtaining license
  • Experience: Cardiothoracic Surgery experience, including OR and ICU management
  • Other Qualifications: Local candidate highly preferred; clean malpractice/background; NPDB Self-Query report required
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide surgical first-assist for cardiothoracic procedures (CABG, valve repair/replacement, etc.)
  • Manage postoperative patients in the ICU and acute care settings
  • Round on hospital patients (5-10/day) and perform admissions (0-3/day)
  • Participate in clinic support as needed (5% of time)
  • Take night call (5p-7a) on weekdays and weekends, covering cardiothoracic emergencies and consults
