Opportunity

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Army Aviation Training Development Subject Matter Expert to support our Huntsville, AL location.

PeopleTec is hiring an aviation training systems subject matter expert to support our Army aviation customer. This role draws on aviation training and doctrine experience to shape how the audit is conducted and to translate findings into clear readiness and utilization insights for government leadership. In addition, the SME will support PeopleTec's broader maintenance and virtual training initiatives.

Duties:

  • Develop the audit plan and methodology, establishing PeopleTec's approach rather than conforming to a legacy framework.
  • Define how device utilization is measured - capturing both POI-directed and informal off-POI usage - so that real utilization is not undercounted.
  • Analyze trained-task versus designed-task coverage and concurrency, and convert findings into actionable readiness and utilization conclusions.
  • Serve as liaison to government training leadership (DOTD, brigade, and PM stakeholders) on site.
  • Support the broader customer maintenance and virtual training narrative, including alignment with data analytics and reporting where it strengthens audit findings.
Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 10+ years in Army aviation training development or management; senior NCO (E-8/E-9) or warrant/commissioned officer background.
  • Direct experience in a DOTD, TRADOC, or equivalent training development organization.
  • Deep understanding of Training Development Capability (TDC), Central Army Registry (CAR), Programs of Instruction (POIs), ELOs, TADSS employment, and training utilization methodology.
  • UH-60L/M background (aviator or maintainer).
  • Travel:  Approximately 25% (typically one to two trips per month), subject to government travel approval; Willingness to travel routinely to JBLE, VA (periodic TDY to JBLE, VA)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one, as well as to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

  • BS degree with 10-12 years of experience; equivalent experience may be substituted for a degree.

Desired Skills:

  • Recently retired from DOTD, 1st Aviation Brigade, or AvCoE course management position; platform instructor experience in UH-60 courses preferred.
  • Familiarity with Training Development Capability (TDC), Central Army Registry (CAR), Army training systems of record, etc.
  • Experience briefing senior leaders and advocating training requirements at brigade or directorate level or higher.
  • Familiarity with training utilization reporting and visualization (e.g., Power BI, SharePoint).
