Whether you're a student, a parent, semi-retired, or just looking to give a few hours of your week to something purposeful, we offer flexible shifts during the day, afternoon, and early evening - no overnights required. Some shifts are just a couple hours long; others can be combined into a fuller schedule based on your availability.
In this role, you'll help people build confidence, learn everyday skills, and access the community around them whether that's a trip to the grocery store, a visit to the library, or help getting to a job or doctor's appointment.
You'll use your own car to provide occasional transportation, which is an important part of supporting someone's independence.If you have patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping others thrive, we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed. No healthcare or direct care experience is required, just a caring heart and a willingness to learn.
Things You Might Do:- Support individuals as they practice life skills like cooking, laundry, or using public transportation
- Provide transportation in your personal vehicle for community outings, errands, or appointments
- Help individuals build social skills and confidence in group or public settings
- Assist with navigating everyday challenges and celebrating progress
- Encourage independence while offering reliable, compassionate support
Qualifications:- Must be 18 years or older (required)
- Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle (required) *Driver's License, insurance and registration must be aligned with state of permanent residence*
- Willingness to use your vehicle to transport individuals when needed (required) *KenCrest offers standard mileage reimbursement
- Clean background check, drug screen, and acceptable driving record (per state guidelines)
- Experience working with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities is a plus, but not required
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, creativity, and a team-first attitude
