Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a key member of the UCX Sales team, the Account Executive will be directly responsible for achieving their assigned sales plan by generating profitable revenue growth through the development of new business and the retention of existing business within their assigned territory. In this position, the Account Executive will ensure consistent, profitable growth in sales revenue through territory planning, calling on customers to sell products, programs, and services, and partnership with account executives within the assigned territory. The Account Executive reports to the Regional Sales Manager and works closely with all departments, primarily, marketing, credit, operations, and customer service.

The territory for this position is Vermont and Northern Upstate New York

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Achieve annual, quarterly, and monthly Gross Sales, Gross Profit, and Gross Margin Percentage goals for each product category by developing and executing a business plan for the territory.
  • Participate in new product program presentations, display placement, slow moving inventory sales, and various administrative assignments, to promote all product categories using influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Provide accurate prices and quotes for a wide variety of flooring related products
  • Maintain positive customer relationships. The Account Executive upholds UCX high standards of customer contact and service standards. Maintain personal customer contact via direct visit, phone, text, email and letter. Involve other departments and personnel in customer relationship maintenance. Strong customer relationships are critical.
  • Ensure accounts receivable are maintained within acceptable limits. Assist credit department and claims department with resolution of problems. Comply with deadlines for information transmittal and other communications to resolve problems. The Account Executive will uphold and administer all credit and claims policies.
  • Maintain good relationships and work processes with internal departments by providing complete and quality information needed on a timely basis. Establish and nurture good relationships with internal support department’s employees while upholding the needed standards of service to customers.
  • Developing new accounts – new business opportunities by researching information about customers’ needs, products, market trends and analysis, and competition; turning researched information into a working territory growth strategy.
  • Accurately communicate UCX policies and procedures to customers. Assist Marketing, Operations and Customer Service in the formulation, communication and adherence to price lists, delivery and other fees, delivery standards and restrictions, etc.
  • Provide inventory guidance information to Marketing, Operations, and Purchasing. Help manage proper stock levels of products, displays, and samples by providing sales forecasts.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONA AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of field sales experience with proven track record of success
  • BA/BS degree is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Previous experience in the flooring industry and/or distribution preferred
  • Experience managing multiple customer accounts in a competitive market
  • Exceptional customer service and the proven ability to build strong relationships
  • Ability to travel to customer locations within your designated sales territory
  • Ability to assemble/disassemble marketing/product displays and change out periodically with new marketing tools, sample, and products
