Job description

This position will be the leader on the sales floor and the assistant to the Store Manager. You will need to exceed at the Key Supervisor and Inventory Administrator job requirements. You are expected to be an advocate for Dover Saddlery with our customers and employees.
• Complete inventory transactions accurately
• Support ship-from-store, store to store transfers and BOPUS (Buy Online Pick Up at Store) orders.
• Complete accurate cycle counts
• Maintain a neat and orderly stockroom
• Keep open back-order list current and communicate status with customers
• Maintain store supply inventory needs
• Keep all store Open Transactions up to date and resolve open transactions in a timely manner.
• Receive and properly put replenishment shipments away
• Accurately process all direct from vendor shipments.
• Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service experience
• Answer questions, suggest promotional items and provide product information
• Process payments by totaling purchases; processing checks, cash and store or other credit cards.
• Process customer refunds courteously and professionally.
• Process merchandise shipments
• Assist with store upkeep
• Properly opening and closing the store for business, including:
o Cash register reconciliation
o Filing appropriate daily/nightly paperwork
o Disarming/Arming alarms as appropriate
o Securing cash and checks
• Overseeing retail staff in the absence of the store manager
• Ensure proper customer service standards on the sales floor and guiding the retail employees
• Basic retail inventory management, processing incoming shipments, maintaining an organized sales floor and supporting outgoing shipments
• Provide employee oversight and support a safe and proper work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned
  • Strong English Equestrian Knowledge required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Retail Store Management experience is a plus.
  • General knowledge of and ability to operate a personal computer, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire a team to ensure high level performance.
  • Will work a rotating schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or in pursuit of a diploma
