Job Title: Gameday Retail Associate (Part-Time)

Date: Late August 2026 through end of 2026-2027 season (as late as May 2027)

Department: Fan Experience

Reports to: Coordinator, Fan Experience

Role Summary:
A successful candidate will play a huge role in enhancing the fan experience by creating a welcoming and efficient shopping environment for guests at all Steel home games. The primary responsibilities are delivering exceptional customer service and generating merchandise sales throughout the event. This role is responsible for assisting customers, processing transactions, and supporting all retail operations at all Steel home games. We are seeking individuals who foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere and focus on providing the highest level of customer service for our fans at all home games. The Gameday Retail Associate plays an important role in ensuring seamless retail operations and creating a positive experience for guests at events.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up and taking down merchandise displays for all Steel home games

  • Greet customers and provide outstanding customer service

  • Maintain awareness of current products, inventory, and best-selling items

  • Accurately process sales transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system

  • Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock items

  • Organize, maintain, and clean retail locations during downtime

  • Represent the Chicago Steel by maintaining a fun, positive, and fan-focused retail environment

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • The ability to attend all Steel home games during the 2026-2027 season. This will include nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus but not required

  • Positive and energetic individual that is organized, driven, and willing to contribute to the success of the team

  • Friendly, outgoing personality with a customer-first mindset

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work productively and collaboratively

  • Ability to be on feet for 3+ hours at a time

The Team:

The Chicago Steel, members of the United States Hockey League (USHL), will participate in their 27th season and are one of the most decorated junior hockey teams in the world in recent years.

Since 2017, the Steel have won two Clark Cup Championships (2017 and 2021), two Anderson Cup Championships (regular season titles), and three conference championships. Since the inaugural season of 2000-2001, 392 Chicago Steel players have played Division 1 hockey, and 70 Steel alumni have been selected in the NHL draft, including nine 1st Round selections.
