Liquor Store Customer Service Representative

Job Description

The position of year-round part-time liquor store Customer Service Representative at the various Edina Liquor store locations requires you to run a point of sale (POS) register, provide prompt and courteous customer service, assist in keeping store clean and assist management as needed. Must be able to interact with customers in a professional, courteous and helpful manner. This position also assists with delivery & sales support. When assistance is necessary, this position provides support running an e-commerce point of sale (POS) system, monitoring, receiving, and processing online customer orders, answering questions over the phone, & delivering orders throughout the City of Edina. This is a part-time position that may work a flexible schedule 12 - 20 hours per week. This schedule may include days, nights, weekends and holidays. (Average minimum six weekend shifts per month (Friday - Sunday). PTO - Employee earns one hour of sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked.

Essential Functions
  • Provides superior customer service to all customers who walk through our liquor operations
    • Greets customers in a professional, courteous and friendly manner;
    • Provides superior customer service to every customer;
    • Answer phones promptly, directs calls and takes phone messages;
    • Utilizes the point of sale system for every transaction;
    • Ability to handle and manage cash;
    • Performs retail and customer service activities as needed;
  • Assists with day-to-day operations of the liquor stores,
    • including, stocking shelves on the sales floor and filling product in the beer cooler, and displaying of merchandise;
    • Assists with in-store displays and signage;
    • Supports maintaining overall appearance of the store;
    • Offers product recommendations;
    • Aids with carry outs;
    • Completes general janitorial duties as assigned;
    • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all levels of staff;
    • Organizes and maintains stock rooms and overstock products
    • Assists with incoming deliveries;
    • Assist with deliveries of a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes;
    • Assist with answering phone inquiries regarding online ordering and delivery;
    • Assist with loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting, and operating a delivery vehicle;
    • Assist with utilizing the e-commerce point of sale system;
    • Performs other duties as assigned;
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Prior retail liquor or at least two years of general retail experience preferred.
Supplemental Information

Physical Requirements:

  • Work in the store requires frequent bending and long periods of standing or walking. Incumbents must be able to regularly lift 50- 80 pounds with reasonably accommodations.

Working Conditions:

  • The position is performed primarily indoors within temperature-controlled environment.
