Job description

Role Overview

Sodexo MAGIC is seeking an Executive Chef 2 at Delaware State University, located in Dover, DE. This position will manage the Culinary responsibilities for the Campus Food Service Operations in Residential Dining, Retail Locations, and Executive Catering. 

The ideal candidate will oversee Culinary Excellence with an innovative passion for food and quality, Staff Management and Supervision, and will bring experience in training and leading food safety, workplace safety standards, creativity, and innovation. Possess experience managing all types of catering events and have excellent client relations skills.

Will be responsible for client interactions and management of standards, purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, cost analysis, and forecasting. Will ensure Sodexo Culinary standards include recipe compliance, food trends, and food quality at various levels of service. Will train and implement such standards and must have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations at all times.

What You'll Do
  • Be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis, and food production forecasting;
  • Ensure Sodexo Culinary standards, including recipe compliance and food quality, are implemented;
  • Have a working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production, and management systems;
  • Implement those systems and ensure ongoing compliance across campus.  Oversee concept development, menu design, and the implementation of new culinary concepts;
  • Driving innovation and excellence in the university's dining program to meet the diverse needs and tastes of the student body and staff;
  • Promote customer loyalty and brand image, diagnose customer needs, and recommend appropriate products or services;
