Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Payments Sales Specialist - Financial Services & Retail to drive new business and expand strategic customer relationships across the payment's ecosystem. This role will focus on helping banks, fintech companies, payment processors, merchant acquirers, payment service providers, and retailers modernize the mission-critical technology environments that support electronic payments. The ideal candidate will bring strong enterprise sales experience, an understanding of banking and payments technology, and the ability to build pipeline, lead complex pursuits, and translate customer challenges into business-focused solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow HPE's presence across the Financial Services and Retail payments ecosystem.
  • Represent the voice of the customer by sharing market insights and customer feedback to help shape future solutions and go-to-market strategies.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities with banks, payment processors, payment service providers (PSPs), merchant acquirers, fintech organizations, and retailers.
  • Create, manage, and drive a qualified pipeline of new business and expansion opportunities, consistently meeting or exceeding sales objectives.
  • Partner with Account Managers to develop account strategies, uncover customer needs, and lead complex sales pursuits from qualification through close.
  • Build trusted relationships with business and technology stakeholders, including executive-level decision makers, by understanding customer challenges and delivering outcome-based solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional sales efforts by collaborating with Solution Consulting, Product Management, Marketing, Customer Success, Channel Partners, and other internal teams to deliver the best customer outcomes.
  • Develop account plans, forecast revenue accurately, and maintain disciplined opportunity management throughout the sales cycle.
  • Maintain an understanding of industry trends, payments modernization initiatives, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies to effectively position HPE's solutions.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • 8+ years of enterprise sales, business development, account management, or related commercial experience.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business, building pipeline, and closing complex enterprise technology or solution sales.
  • Experience selling into or supporting customers within Financial Services, Retail, payments, fintech, banking technology, merchant services, or payment processing environments.
  • Proven ability to develop executive-level relationships and navigate complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles.
  • Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams, including account management, solution consulting, product management, marketing, and customer success.
  • Demonstrated achievement of progressively increasing sales quotas and success managing strategic enterprise accounts
  • Experience managing and growing strategic enterprise accounts, with the ability to navigate complex customer organizations and multiple executive stakeholders.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology sales and consultative, solution-based selling methodologies.
  • Experience selling complex technology solutions into enterprise customers within Financial Services, Retail, fintech, banking technology, merchant services, payment processing, or the broader payments ecosystem.
  • Understanding of the payments ecosystem, including banks, payment processors, payment service providers (PSPs), merchant acquirers, fintech organizations, and retailers.
  • Ability to develop strategic account plans, build qualified pipeline, forecast revenue accurately, and manage complex sales opportunities through the full sales lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish trusted relationships with executive-level business and technology stakeholders within enterprise organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of industry trends, customer challenges, and technology modernization initiatives impacting Financial Services and Retail organizations.
  • Ability to translate customer business challenges into value-based solutions rather than leading with product features or technical specifications.
