The North America Consumer Products team delivers strategic category plans and drives licensing partnerships across Mattel's portfolio of brands, including Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price, Thomas & Friends and UNO. We engage consumers by extending our iconic brands & franchises through consumer products.
Job Description
The Opportunity:
Mattel is seeking a motivated Manager, Consumer Products to join our Consumer Products organization based in El Segundo, CA at our corporate headquarters. The Manager, Consumer Products will support the growth of the Softlines business through new initiatives and strategic focus areas.
This role is based at Mattel's El Segundo headquarters, with in-office presence required four days per week in accordance with the company's current hybrid work policy. Flexible working hours are expected to support collaboration across regional teams in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
What Your Impact Will Be:
  • May oversee multiple CP categories and/or subcategories.
  • Supports the development & execution of licensing plans that include category strategy, contract ownership/licensee management and annual operating plans .
  • Accountable for establishing and meeting or exceeding revenue plans for CP brands and categories.
  • Established expert in assigned categories, influencing and providing guidance to Franchise, Product Development, and Approvals teams to ensure sales and creative materials developed support the commercial needs of the business and drives incremental revenue.
  • Completes regular analysis of business opportunities in assigned categories, makes recommendations for consolidation.
  • Defines category goals and communicates active projects to leader, retail development, creative, and franchise teams for transparency and seamless coordination.
  • Coordinates with CP/Franchise retail development on cross-category programs, including CP roll-out/launch strategies.
  • Works with commercial team counterparts (along with leader) to ensure toy adjacent licensed products complement vertical lines and coordinates cross-category pitch presentations at retail.
  • Evaluates new business opportunities; whitespace analysis, monitors industry trends and collects available consumer insights (as available) to identify opportunities.
  • Provides guidance to creative and franchise marketing teams on campaign prioritization and launch activation plans
  • Analyze and summarize quarterly licensee forecasts by identifying change drivers, explaining material variances, and highlighting risks and growth opportunities
  • Complete evaluation of potential new licensees; directs whitespace analysis and review of existing partnerships.
  • Responsible for career development of team members. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and growth oriented culture.

*The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
