About the Role:
This is a hands-on leadership role for a results-driven manager who excels in team development, project management, and retail operations. You will lead a talented design team, fostering an entrepreneurial culture while managing day-to-day operations and driving sales growth. Your ability to balance big-picture, long-term strategic vision with rigorous attention to operational detail will be crucial for expanding our market reach and elevating the customer experience.
This location offers consistent opportunity to influence traffic, build strategic partnerships, develop high-performing design teams, and increase written business through community engagement and client-centric leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and inspire the design team by coaching, developing, and holding associates accountable to exceed sales and service goals in a dynamic retail environment.
  • Champion both long-term business strategy and daily operational execution, ensuring the Design Center meets strategic objectives while maintaining the highest standards in every detail.
  • Manage all aspects of the Design Center's operations including sales performance, strategic business planning, inventory reconciliation, and monthly financial reviews (P&L).
  • Actively resolve problems and remove barriers for your team and clients, applying strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Develop and implement innovative grassroots marketing and community engagement initiatives, including partnerships with local businesses and expanding trade and online channels.
  • Utilize your entrepreneurial mindset within an established company culture to identify and seize new business opportunities while adapting swiftly to change.
  • Oversee training programs to enhance design, product knowledge, sales expertise, and customer service excellence.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to social responsibility by fostering positive impact through team's community involvement, supporting charitable initiatives, and building meaningful relationships that reflect Ethan Allen's values.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and maintain a safe, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 5 years of progressive retail leadership experience; or High School diploma with 10+ years relevant experience including interior design and sales leadership.
  • Proven track record in residential interior design sales with broad product knowledge and the ability to review and guide design projects using technical and creative skills.
  • Demonstrating a leadership mindset and big-picture strategic thinking, as well as the ability to execute on details and processes that keep the business running smoothly.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong organizational and communication skills, and a knack for balancing strategic objectives with immediate operational needs.
  • Proven ability to develop teams, manage complex projects, and drive measurable business growth.
  • Flexible to work holidays, evenings, and weekends. Valid driver's license or equivalent transportation arrangements.

Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive base salary plus monthly incentives tied to sales growth. Pay Transparency:
Base compensation for this position ranges from $65,000-$75,000 based on experience. Total compensation for this position includes base salary and bonus, with payments made monthly based on written sales growth.
