Retail Bookkeeper Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper with 2+ years of bookkeeping experience in a retail and/or restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of accounting, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to process and review high-volume daily sales transactions accurately. Experience with Toast POS is preferred, along with proficiency in QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily sales reconciliation and ensure accuracy of POS system data, including Toast POS transactions.
• Review, process, and reconcile high-volume daily sales transactions from multiple sources.
• Reconcile merchant processing statements to daily sales transactions and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Manage accounts payable functions, including invoice review, AP batch preparation, payment processing support, and vendor record maintenance.
• Maintain credit and debit cards accounts receivable records and ensure accurate and timely bank deposits by third part merchant processing company.
• Perform bank reconciliations and system reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
• Assist with payroll processing using Paylocity, including reviewing payroll data for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare daily sales reports and support weekly and monthly financial statements preparation.
• Maintain organized records, files, and supporting documentation for accounting and operational activities.
• Assist with inventory counts, inventory recordkeeping, and reconciliation of inventory-related data.
• Maintain and update products, pricing, and related information in the POS system.
• Provide operational support to management and team members as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a retail and/or restaurant environment.
• Accounting education background or related coursework required; associate degree or higher in accounting is required.
• Experience with Toast POS is preferred.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Ability to reconcile complex transaction data from multiple systems and sources.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

• $4,500-$5,000 per month, depending on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
