 Strong candidates for Retail Associate will have several years of retail experience in a high volume specialty retailer.  They must possess proven sales skills with a strong emphasis on product, exemplary customer service and a keen eye for visual presentation. 

A familiarity with trends in fashion and home furnishings is preferred, with an interest in delivering a superior level of customer service that will maximize sales and profits.  Understanding the 5 star guidelines and UHS vision and values is a plus.

We have both full and part time positions available, see below for the distinction.

Full Time Gift Shop Retail Associate – 40 hours

Part-Time Gift Shop Retail Associate – 20-30 hours

Part Time associate hours are typically on Saturdays and Sundays, with some evening shift availability, and flexibility to cover vacation time for other employees.

  • Computer skills – including the ability to multitask between several apps and computer systems
  • Understanding of cash-handling procedures 
  • Comfortable climbing a 5’ ladder.
  • Able to lift 25 lbs. 
  • Aid in daily operations including processing incoming shipments, tagging product, assisting with inventory, restocking and organizing shelves, letting management know when items are low in stock
  • Assist in outgoing shipping of items from guests and the online shop which at times can include high end fragile and delicate pieces
  • Continually strives to understand all the products, artwork and sales items
  • Involvement in monthly inventory counts
  • Answers the telephone and direct calls as appropriate
  • Assist in training any new team members as requested
  • Checking department e-mail and responding accordingly
  • Maintains cleanliness and neatness, including dusting shop shelves, cleaning glass and counters often throughout shift, vacuuming at closing
  • Ensures a pleasant visit for each guest
  • Sales ability and willingness to engage with guests
  • A warm and courteous attitude. 
  • Exemplary communication skills.
  • Must work well in a small team environment.
