Job description

Westerwood is currently seeking a responsible and dependable Dietary Aide to work with our exceptional dining services team and community! This position is full-time, 7:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M. Staff may be asked to work 6:30 A.M. - 2:30 P.M. as an opener or on occasion 11:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M. with availability seven days a week.

Job Duties

The Dietary Aide is responsible for assembling or serving meals to residents in our Rehabilitation Center, Assisted Living Apartments and Memory Care unit. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding types of therapeutic beverages and meals along with the use of adaptive utensils or equipment for specialized care.

  • Monitoring food and equipment temperatures; portion control and food safety practices.

  • Breakfast service for all residents from our Main Kitchen tray line.

  • Preparing and delivering beverage carts and plating hot meals from mobile steam tables and then breaking down the units.

  • Delivering cold foods and pre-plated hot meals to our Memory Care residents and completing cleaning tasks afterwards.

  • Providing meal service in the Friendship Inn dining room and clean up and restocking afterwards.

  • Daily kitchen cleaning, sanitizing and restocking tasks.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays. The ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions and effective interpersonal communication skills across all departments. Light physical duty includes pushing, pulling and bending. Candidates must be able to engage in frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds or less, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Candidates are mobile throughout their shift with established breaks and a lunch period. Experience is preferred but will train energetic and service-minded individuals.
