Position Overview:
The Director of Purchasing will be responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies that ensure cost-effectiveness, consistency, and quality across our group. This role requires strong leadership, negotiation skills, and expertise in restaurant supply chain management. Familiarity with Restaurant365 is essential for success.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee purchasing activities for 10-15 restaurant locations.
  • Develop, negotiate, and manage vendor contracts to optimize cost savings and quality.
  • Implement and maintain purchasing systems and processes in Restaurant365.
  • Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure consistent supply of food, beverage, and operational goods to all units.
  • Collaborate with culinary, operations, and finance teams to align procurement with business goals.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and delivery standards.
  • Lead and mentor the purchasing team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage inventory and control costs while maintaining product availability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Experience overseeing purchasing for multi-unit operations (10+ locations preferred).
  • Proficiency with Restaurant365 and strong data analysis skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management abilities.
  • Proven track record of cost savings and process improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
