To thrive in restaurant staffing, you need thorough knowledge of hospitality operations, food safety standards, and staff management, often supported by experience in food service and supervisory roles. Familiarity with scheduling software, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and compliance certifications like ServSafe is typically required. One common challenge in restaurant staffing is maintaining adequate coverage during peak hours while managing labor costs. Unexpected absences and high turnover can also disrupt team dynamics and service quality. Open communication and regular feedback help staff feel valued and engaged, which can significantly reduce turnover and improve overall team performance.
