Position Summary
The Special Projects Coordinator serves as a key member of the UNC School of Law administrative team, responsible for executing high-priority strategic projects, events, and operational initiatives that support the School's mission and leadership objectives. This position coordinates all aspects of complex events and special projects, including scheduling and calendaring, travel arrangements, catering, venue logistics, vendor coordination, and stakeholder communications. Working across a broad range of internal and external constituencies, the Special Projects Coordinator ensures projects are completed efficiently, professionally, and with exceptional attention to detail.
The successful candidate will possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, trustees, vendors, and other external partners. The position requires advanced administrative and technology proficiency, including expertise with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Copilot), Concur travel and expense management, RASR, and project management and collaboration platforms such as Asana, CRM systems, Planner, Power Automate, Forms, OneDrive, Adobe Acrobat, and similar enterprise systems. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technologically sophisticated, resourceful, and capable of managing multiple competing priorities while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate's degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Expertise with all Microsoft 365 applications
Experience with Concur and RASR
Knowledge of Project Management platforms, including Asana and CRM systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build effective relationships with a variety of internal and external partners
