What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a restaurant consultant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Restaurant Consultant, you need expertise in restaurant operations, menu development, and financial analysis, often supported by a degree in hospitality management or business. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and food safety certifications is typically required. Outstanding communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to diverse client needs set top consultants apart. These skills are crucial for identifying operational inefficiencies, implementing effective solutions, and driving restaurant success in a competitive industry.

What are some common challenges faced by restaurant consultants when working with diverse clients?

Restaurant consultants often encounter challenges such as adapting to different restaurant cultures, aligning with varying client expectations, and managing resistance to change from staff or management. Each client may have unique operational issues, menu concepts, or financial constraints, requiring consultants to tailor their approach and communication style accordingly. Successfully navigating these challenges involves strong interpersonal skills, a thorough understanding of industry best practices, and the ability to implement solutions that are practical for each specific environment.

Ecotrak Facility Management Software

Irvine, CA โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Job description

Ecotrak provides a cloud-based facilities management (CMMS) platform that helps multi-site brands across restaurant, retail, and other facility-intensive industries manage assets, work orders, vendors, and capital spend from a single system of record.
We're a fast-growing team building software that keeps real-world locations running smoothly, and we're looking for people who take as much pride in a successful customer rollout as we take in our product.
Together, we run it, and if you're ready to join a crew of hard-working, down-to-earth people trying to rapidly change an industry for the better, you'll fit right in.
Your Role In Keeping Things Running:
As an Implementation Consultant, you'll own the customer journey from signed contract through successful go-live on the Ecotrak platform. This is a hands-on role that combines project management, customer consulting, and software configuration.
You'll lead implementation plans, gather customer requirements, configure Ecotrak around each customer's locations, assets, workflows, and business processes, and coordinate data migration, integrations, testing, training, and go-live readiness.
You'll work directly with Facilities, Operations, Accounting, and IT stakeholders on the customer side, while partnering closely with Ecotrak's Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Support teams internally. Your goal is to deliver an organized, high-quality implementation that gets customers live on schedule and sets them up for long-term success with Ecotrak.
What You'll Get Done:
Project Management
โ€ข Own the end-to-end implementation plan for each assigned customer, including timelines, milestones, resourcing, dependencies, and risk tracking.
โ€ข Lead recurring project status calls with customer stakeholders, providing clear updates on progress, blockers, decisions, and next steps.
โ€ข Manage multiple concurrent implementations, prioritizing across accounts to meet go-live dates without sacrificing quality.
โ€ข Identify scope changes, delays, dependencies, or at-risk projects early and escalate internally with a clear plan to get the implementation back on track.
โ€ข Coordinate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Support to resolve blockers and keep implementations moving forward.
โ€ข Maintain accurate, up-to-date project documentation and status within project management and customer success tools.
Customer Discovery & Software Configuration
โ€ข Lead discovery and requirements-gathering sessions to understand each customer's current processes, business requirements, and desired workflows, then translate those requirements into an effective Ecotrak configuration.
โ€ข Configure the Ecotrak platform to match each customer's site hierarchy, asset types, preventive maintenance schedules, user roles, approval workflows, and other business requirements.
โ€ข Manage data migration and validation, including asset lists, vendor records, and historical work order data.
โ€ข Coordinate the setup and testing of integrations between Ecotrak and customer business systems in partnership with Ecotrak's integrations and engineering teams.
โ€ข Coordinate user acceptance testing and go-live readiness, ensuring configuration, data, integrations, and customer teams are prepared for a successful launch.
โ€ข Build and deliver role-based training and documentation so customer teams are prepared to operate the platform independently after launch.
โ€ข Partner with Product to identify configuration gaps and recurring customer needs that may help inform future product improvements.
What You'll Bring to the Crew
โ€ข 3+ years of experience in software implementation, technical consulting, customer onboarding, or project management, ideally within a B2B SaaS environment.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to manage multiple customer projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
โ€ข Comfort configuring software directly. You're not just managing the project plan; you're comfortable getting into the platform and setting it up.
โ€ข Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with everyone from executive stakeholders to day-to-day platform users.
โ€ข Clear, structured communication skills, both written and verbal, including customer meetings, project updates, documentation, and internal escalations.
โ€ข Comfort working with data, including spreadsheets, CSV imports, and basic data cleanup and validation.
โ€ข A proactive, solutions-oriented approach when projects encounter challenges, with a focus on identifying the path forward and keeping teams aligned.
Nice to Have
โ€ข Experience implementing CMMS, IWMS, ERP, or similar facilities or operations software.
โ€ข Background in facilities management, restaurant or retail operations, or other multi-site business environments.
โ€ข Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana, Monday.com, or Smartsheet and customer success platforms such as Gainsight, Totango, or HubSpot.
โ€ข Experience supporting SSO implementations and API-based integrations, including gathering technical requirements, coordinating setup and testing, troubleshooting issues, and validating successful integrations.
โ€ข Familiarity with APIs, authentication concepts, integration workflows, and data mapping; basic SQL knowledge is a plus.
What Ecotrak Offers
โ€ข Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
โ€ข Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, life, and 401(k) with 4% match.
โ€ข Unlimited PTO and 12 paid holidays.
โ€ข Tuition reimbursement, team-building events, and company swag.
โ€ข A collaborative, innovative team where you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the customer experience and help shape how Ecotrak implementations scale.
As part of our commitment to compliance with federal regulations, Ecotrak participates in E-Verify to confirm the employment eligibility of all employees.
