Job description

Seattle Restaurant Administrative Assistant

An Owner/Executive of a busy Seattle restaurant is in need of an Administrative Assistant to assist in the Executive's daily tasks and long-term projects.

This position will entail a wide variety of tasks, including, but not limited to:

  • Managing communications, screening resumes, proofreading, creating and editing a variety of documents and spreadsheets, scheduling, and updating calendars.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the business and ALL projects underway.
  • Performing customer-service related duties for the restaurant including making phone calls, emailing, and organizing staff-related projects.
  • Running errands (primarily for business, but sometimes personal). Having a reliable car is a must.

Qualifications:

  • Be a GREAT communicator, including a proven level of emotional maturity and reliability.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills and ability to prioritize. Type A personalities please!
  • Professional demeanor and awareness of best practices for communication.
  • Trustworthy
  • Able to work alone or as part of a team. Especially, being proactive and a self-starter.
  • Excellent writing skills, especially with professional communications.
  • EXTREMELY effective with time management, including work tasks and your own punctuality.
  • Working knowledge and comfortability with Mac product (iMac, MacBook, iPhone, etc), Windows Office suite, and LOTS of apps.
  • Must have your own reliable car, insurance, and clean driving record.
  • Flexibility with work schedule/time is extremely important! May include working daytime, evenings, weekends, or weekdays.
  • Enjoy variety in your work tasks and day.
  • Ability to juggle many tasks and get excited at the prospect of new and diverse work.
  • Have a positive and outgoing demeanor, with a general joy for life.
  • Must be OK with receiving communications throughout the day or evening. Note: not all evening correspondences need to be responded to immediately; many can wait until the next day.
  • Minimum Education: B.A. or equivalent 4-year degree.
  • Preferred: B.A. of Business, Communication, Writing, or English.
  • Preferred: General business experience.
  • Must own a smartphone and a laptop, and be willing to use and install Apps as required.

Rate of Pay: $15 per hour as a contractor. Hours: 30-40 per week, dependent on need and your availability.
