Construction Controller: Plantation, Florida

Must have Construction industry General Contractor accounting experience. This Commercial Construction company has been in business for 40 years. Outstanding reputation. Our client is an international, $100+million dollar a year revenue organization that is growing annually. Position Title: Construction Controller


Location: Plantation, Florida (Broward County - Ft. Lauderdale)


Salary: $150 to $160K + annual bonus


Technical Skill Set Required:

  • Mid to large Construction company accounting experience: $100m+
  • Construction industry Accounting & Finance experience (current)
  • Full ownership & oversight of end-to-end accounting; through trial balance & financial statement preparation. Monthly General Ledger, Multiple Entity Journal Entries, Bank Reconciliations, AP/AR
  • Month End Close, quarter end close, year-end close
  • Analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules, job cost reporting, and project profitability analysis.
  • AIA billing
  • Experience with system migrations (preferred)
  • Balance sheet review
  • Treasury functions
  • Improve policies & procedures, internal controls
  • Financial Statement Preparation
  • GAAP Experience
  • Advanced Excel User
  • Ad-Hoc Reports
  • Reports to Executive Management


Job Requirements:

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • Minimum of 7 years Accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree, with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance. Strong Academic background from a reputable university
  • Current Construction industry Accounting experience / Not Development
  • CPA preferred
  • Good employment stability (no job hoppers)
  • Advanced Excel
