Our Respiratory Care Department is dedicated to providing comprehensive respiratory therapy services to patients of all ages. Our team of skilled respiratory therapists works collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care, including advanced diagnostic testing, therapeutic interventions, and patient education. We utilize the latest technology and evidence-based practices to manage and treat a wide range of respiratory conditions, ensuring our patients receive the best possible outcomes. About Corewell Health Taylor Hospital

Corwell Health Taylor Hospital is a 148-bed hospital that is a recognized health care leader in the metro Detroit area. Proudly serving Taylor and surrounding communities since 1977, it offers specialty services including 24-hour emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a surgical pavilion, a pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, inpatient rehabilitation facility and full-service radiology, including advanced CT w/cardiac scoring, Fixed MRI including pacemaker, cinema vision and ultrasound (MSK & elastography).

Scope of work 

Under minimal direction, the Registered Respiratory Therapist: implements and evaluates diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiopulmonary and related disorders; participates in the education of patients, students, staff and physicians; provides technical support for all equipment related to the practice of Respiratory Care; assists with general department functions.

Qualifications

  • Required Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy

  • Respiratory Therapist License - State of Michigan Upon Hire required

  • Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required

  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
