Job description

Sr. HR Manager


The Sr. Human Resources Manager is to lead our HR function and team for our food manufacturing facility located in Ontario, CA. In this role, they will drive the company's safety culture and play a key leadership role in the plant. Human Resources expertise will enhance employee engagement, talent acquisition, training, and company-wide HR initiatives within our fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role for an HR leader who can stabilize operations, develop talent, and drive culture and engagement in a plant undergoing transformation.

Direct Reports: 2 (1 salaried + 1 hourly)
Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with production leaders and key stakeholders to develop and implement people plans and solutions to achieve business initiatives and deliver results.
  • Drive engagement by championing the company's vision, mission, purpose, and culture initiatives.
  • Provide transparent communication, and promotes employee understanding of programs, policies, and objectives along with developing positive employee morale.
  • Administer Human Resources function including employee relations, compensation, recruitment, training, EEO/AA, and benefits.
  • Coach, motivates and develops team members and the plant leadership team.
  • Direct, train and develop a team of HR professionals.
    Lead an HR team of 2 (1 salaried + 1 hourly) professionals
  • Support plant transformation efforts with strong HR presence, consistency, and team guidance
  • Build and maintain trust
  • Champion a culture of communication, accountability, and performance
  • Represent HR in plant leadership meetings and contribute to operational planning through HR metrics
  • Reinforce continuous improvement and LEAN practices that support production and workforce alignment

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and a minimum 8+ years' experience as an HR Business partner creating and executing staffing and talent strategies, employee engagement, retention, and employee relations
  • Strong project management and business acumen with experience in driving programs that support the over business objectives
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. HR laws and regulations, U.S. HR and employee relations' practices and policies
  • People management experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English)
  • Experience with manufacturing, ideally in the Food or CPG industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR or SPHR certification

Work Environment:

Work is normally performed in a warehouse/production environment as part of the job requirements, employee may be exposed to work in a production setting and cold temperature (-20 degrees) at times. Must be flexible with work schedule that supports a 24-hour production facility. Schedule may include weekends.
