About the Opportunity

A luxury hotel undergoing an exciting transformation and is looking to identify an experienced Human Resources Manager. Under new ownership and a comprehensive renovation, this property is redefining itself as one of Southern California's premier hospitality destinations. This is a unique opportunity to help build the culture, talent strategy, and employee experience from the ground up.

Reporting to senior leadership, the Human Resources Manager will oversee the entire employee lifecycle while serving as a strategic business partner to hotel leadership. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, hands-on HR professional who thrives in hospitality, enjoys developing people, and has a strong understanding of California employment law and hotel operations.

Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding efforts across all hotel departments
  • Manage employee relations, performance management, coaching, investigations, and compliance
  • Partner with hotel leadership to develop and execute People & Culture initiatives
  • Coordinate learning and development programs, leadership training, and onboarding experiences
  • Support employee engagement, recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and retention strategies
  • Maintain HRIS data, employee records, personnel files, and employment documentation
  • Administer workers' compensation, leave management, and return-to-work programs
  • Lead the hotel's Safety Committee and ensure OSHA and workplace safety compliance
  • Assist with compensation analysis, benefits administration, and annual open enrollment
  • Monitor compliance with federal, California, and local employment laws while supporting hotel policies and procedures

Ideal Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience within the hospitality industry
  • Previous Human Resources experience supporting a full-service hotel or multi-department operation strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience with recruitment, employee relations, investigations, performance management, learning & development, and compliance
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite; Canva experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred
