Job description

The ERP Manager, reporting to the Director of MIS, is a hands-on technology leader responsible for the performance, support, and continuous improvement of the company’s ERP platform within a growing manufacturing environment. This role serves as the primary owner of the ERP system (Infor Syteline), with a strong emphasis on enhancing system utilization, reporting, and data visibility to support operational execution, financial accuracy, and scalable growth. The ERP Manager acts as a strategic partner to operations and finance—translating business needs into practical, scalable ERP and data solutions, while maintaining direct involvement in system configuration, reporting, troubleshooting, and integrations. This is a hands-on role requiring direct involvement in system configuration, reporting, data modeling, and troubleshooting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

ERP Leadership – Infor Syteline

· Act as a strategic partner to operations and finance, ensuring ERP capabilities directly support business performance and decision-making

· Own and lead all aspects of Infor Syteline, including configuration, enhancements, upgrades, workflows, and integrations

· Ensure ERP processes align with business operations, financial reporting, and internal controls

· Drive increased ERP utilization and reduce reliance on manual workarounds and offline processes

· Partner with operations, finance, and supply chain leaders to improve system adoption and process consistency

Hands-On System Administration & Support

· Actively support and troubleshoot ERP-related issues across the organization

· Configure system settings, workflows, and user roles/security

· Manage and develop ERP Administrator; set priorities and ensure execution

· Ensure system stability, performance, and data integrity

Data, Reporting & Business Intelligence

· Own enterprise reporting strategy and standards

· Develop and support reporting tools including SQL Server, SSRS, and Power BI

· Build dashboards and data models that provide actionable insights to operations and finance

· Deliver and standardize KPI reporting, including:

o OEE

o Labor utilization and efficiency

o Inventory turns / DIO

o Cost and margin performance

Manufacturing & Cost Data Alignment

· Ensure ERP accurately reflects manufacturing processes including:

o Routings and standard hours

o Labor tracking and efficiency

o Inventory and WIP flows

o Outside operations

· Support financial accuracy through alignment with:

o Standard costing

o Labor and overhead absorption

o Variance analysis (labor, overhead, material)

Data Governance & Integration

· Establish and maintain data governance standards

· Support development of data warehousing and structured reporting environments

· Manage ERP integrations with internal and external systems (MES, automation, EDI, etc.)

· Support API and data architecture strategies

Automation & Continuous Improvement

· Identify and implement opportunities for automation (RPA, workflows, system improvements)

· Support adoption of AI-enabled tools where practical

· Evaluate, recommend, and support implementation of future-state technologies (MES, shop floor data collection, IoT, and automation solutions), including development of business cases and ROI analysis

· Drive continuous improvement in system usage, reporting efficiency, and data accuracy

Project & Management

· Lead ERP-related projects including system upgrades, process improvements, and new implementations

· Ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with business priorities

Success Metrics (First 12–24 Months)

· Reduction in manual / Excel-based reporting

· Increased ERP utilization across departments

· Deployment of standardized KPI dashboards

· Improved data accuracy (inventory, labor, costing)

· Improvement in labor efficiency visibility and reporting accuracy

· Reduction in ERP-related issues and workarounds

· Successful delivery of ERP and reporting initiatives

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar.

5+ years of ERP experience in a manufacturing environment

Strong hands-on experience with Infor SyteLine.

2+ years of leadership or team management experience

Experience with SQL Server and ERP reporting tools (SSRS or similar)

Experience developing dashboards and data models using BI tools (Power BI preferred)

Solid understanding of manufacturing operations and data flows

Strongly Preferred:

Experience with:

o Advanced Power BI (DAX, data modeling, governance)

Knowledge of:

o Standard costing and cost accounting

o Labor reporting and efficiency metrics

o Inventory, WIP, and variance analysis

o Familiarity with Azure, Active Directory, and enterprise IT environments

o Exposure to AI/automation tools (Power Automate, Copilot, RPA)

Physical Demands:

Maximum lifting requirement (pounds): 10 (seldom).

Maximum moving requirement (pounds): 25 (seldom).

Maintaining physical condition necessary for the following: Frequent sitting; infrequent standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, squatting, twisting upper body, or climbing.

Work Environment:

Work location(s): Office; metal fabrication/assembly shop; travel to other Company facilities.

Exposure to: Fumes, airborne particles, wet/humid (non-weather) conditions, toxic/caustic chemicals, and moving mechanical parts/equipment; inclement weather when in shop areas.

Personal protective equipment requirement: Safety glasses, Steel toed shoes, safety vest, and hearing protection when in shop areas.
