Job description

HJ Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to support daily HR operations for a client in Panama City, Florida. This role will assist with onboarding, employee records, background checks, orientations, scheduling, compliance support, and general administrative HR duties.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (some weekends required)

Responsibilities:
Coordinate background, reference, and pre-employment checks
Prepare onboarding and new hire paperwork
Maintain employee records and HR documentation
Assist with orientations, offboarding, and employee support
Provide administrative support to the HR team
Support HR projects, compliance tracking, and employee initiatives

Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of administrative or HR-related experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to maintain confidentiality and multitask effectively
Must pass a 7-year background check and reference checks
