Job Summary: 

Vail Resorts Hospitality is the premier property and vacation rental management company in Vermont, providing exceptional management services to homeowners and delivering unforgettable experiences for resort guests. The Senior Manager of Lodging serves as the General Manager for Mount Snow Lodging Operations, overseeing the Grand Summit Resort Hotel and the resort's managed vacation rental portfolio.

This leadership role is responsible for all aspects of lodging operations, including guest services, housekeeping, property maintenance, owner relations, and vacation rental management. The Senior Manager partners closely with homeowners, homeowners' associations, community association managers, and cross-functional resort teams to maximize property performance, enhance owner satisfaction, and deliver Vail Resorts' mission of creating an Experience of a Lifetime for employees and guests.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic hospitality leader with a passion for service excellence, team development, property management, and vacation rental operations. Success in this role is measured through strong financial performance, exceptional guest and owner satisfaction, well-maintained properties, and high-performing teams.

Job Responsibilities: 

Leadership & Operations

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for Mount Snow Lodging Operations, including the Grand Summit Resort Hotel and managed vacation rental properties.
  • Lead and develop a team of lodging professionals, including direct oversight of Owner Relations, Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Spa & Recreation leadership.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, guest service excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop both frontline and leadership employees.

Vacation Rental & Owner Relations

  • Oversee all aspects of the vacation rental management program, including homeowner acquisition, contract retention, onboarding, and property transitions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with homeowners to drive satisfaction, trust, and long-term participation in rental management programs.
  • Serve as a primary escalation point for homeowner concerns and ensure timely, effective resolution.
  • Partner with Revenue Management and Reservations teams to optimize occupancy, ADR, and rental revenue performance.

Guest Experience

  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences across all lodging and vacation rental accommodations.
  • Monitor guest feedback and post-stay survey results, proactively addressing service opportunities and implementing operational improvements.
  • Partner with Food & Beverage, Conference Services, Resort Operations, and other departments to deliver seamless guest experiences.

Property Management & Asset Care

  • Oversee housekeeping, maintenance coordination, preventive maintenance programs, and property inspection standards.
  • Ensure managed properties and common areas are maintained in accordance with brand standards, owner expectations, and resort quality guidelines.
  • Lead unit quality assurance initiatives, seasonal deep-cleaning programs, and property enhancement projects.
  • Coordinate property upgrades, owner-funded improvements, capital projects, and vendor services.

Financial & Business Management

  • Manage departmental budgets, inventory controls, purchasing processes, and expense management.
  • Partner with HOA leadership and community management teams on budgeting, invoicing, reserve planning, and operational projects impacting managed properties.
  • Analyze operational and financial performance metrics to identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, and improved profitability.
  • Support annual business planning and strategic initiatives for the Mount Snow lodging operation.

Collaboration & Strategic Partnerships

  • Collaborate with Vail Resorts Hospitality leadership and regional teams to execute company objectives and share best practices.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with homeowners' associations, community managers, resort departments, and external service providers.
  • Support regional and enterprise-wide hospitality initiatives as needed.

Job Requirements: 

  • Minimum of four (4) years of progressive leadership experience in hotel management, vacation rental management, property management, or a related hospitality field.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and managing complex lodging or vacation rental operations.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, expenses, and operational performance metrics.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working with property management systems (PMS) and hospitality technology platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods as required.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a resort, condominium-hotel, HOA, or vacation rental environment.
  • Knowledge of property maintenance, facilities management, and asset preservation programs.
  • Bilingual Spanish language skills.
  • Experience with hospitality and property management systems such as IQware, Opera, SMS, LMS, or similar platforms.

The expected pay range is $70,304.00 - $100,415.00 + Annual Bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
