Rural Community Transportation (RCT) is a private non-profit organization dedicated to enriching lives and enhancing the social, economic, and environmental well-being of the communities we serve. Through innovative and accessible transportation solutions across Northern Vermont. We strive to eliminate barriers to essential services, amenities, and opportunities - key elements that foster health, connection, and vitality within our region.

Position Summary: The Assistant Operations Manager for Fleet supports the Operations Department by handling all vehicle related maintenance. This includes planning, organizing, performing, and evaluating all vehicle maintenance, leading and participating in safety efforts, and recommending improvements. This position is responsible for getting new vehicles into service and into the fleet!

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain work orders and invoices in fleet management software.
  • Promote quality vehicle appearance and sanitation.
  • Responsible for coordinating all maintenance appointments. This includes coordinating with dispatch, ensuring all requested work is getting completed, and being the maintenance liaison for RCT.
  • Track preventative maintenance costs.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies for tires, oil, anti-freeze, dry gas, etc.
  • Have a 5-year vehicle plan.
  • Update all vehicle registrations.
  • Monthly vehicle inspections.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Valid CDL License is required.
  • Passenger Endorsement is required, or the ability to obtain endorsement within the first year of employment.
  • The ability to utilize computers, operating software, and technology is required.
  • Experience in transportation and/or fleet maintenance is preferred.
