Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial statement analysis, expert report preparation, and experience interacting with clients. They will be responsible for helping lead complex business litigation engagements, building client relationships, and providing insight and expertise on target industries, markets, and competitor information.

This position requires strong analytical and writing skills, project management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines while being detail-oriented. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of work experience in this field and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Additional responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing reports of opposing damages experts, taking on assignments as an expert witness when appropriate, and providing expert witness testimony.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree with a strong quantitative bias (e.g., Business, Economics, Math, Finance, or Accounting)
  • 15+ years of experience in economic damage claims, testimony experience, and a $1mm+ book of business.
  • Relevant experience evaluating economic damages in business litigation cases (10 years minimum)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong project and people management skills
  • Strong analysis and critical thinking skills

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and perform day-to-day activities in support of forensic and litigation consulting projects including interaction with other SOCOTEC Advisory team members, client personnel, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement.
  • Perform technical, industry, and company research utilizing online tools and publicly available information, develop work plans and execute analyses to assess complex unstructured problems, assist in preparing reports and schedules summarizing findings that will be delivered to clients and other parties.
  • Applies economic, financial, valuation, and analytical skills to various client situations, specific to client needs.
  • Prepares written presentations, exhibits, and other reports for third parties on the project scope and/or results of activities.
  • Maintain detailed analyses reflecting assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks.
  • Supervises more junior team members' analyses.
  • Work with local Senior Managing Director on practice management and business development efforts.
