Description
As part of the Materials Product Design Engineering team at Apple, you will help design the next generation of the world's finest electronic devices. You will drive the rapid advancement of materials and processes that are used on the enclosures of all our products. As a Color Resin Engineer, you will drive the development of new color resin materials and processes to meet strict structural and aesthetic requirements, setting material specifications, and working with our cross-functional teams to bring these materials to scale. You will work closely with many different cross-functional teams including Industrial Design, Operations, and Reliability. Minimum Qualifications
BS or MS in Chemical Engineering / Materials Science / Mechanical Engineering
5 years of industry experience
Technical knowledge of pigments, dyes, and resins
Familiarity with color analysis and color modeling (reflectance curves, visual assessment of color)
Strong analytical/problem solving skills and ability to use statistical tools and techniques
Technical project management experience leading a project from R&D to production
Excellent verbal and written communication and social skills
Flexibility and comfort working in a quickly changing environment
This position will require international travel (10%+)
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Chemical Engineering / Materials Science / Mechanical Engineering
3+ years work experience in resin compounding
Experience working remotely with vendors
Experience working on multiple products on different development timelines
Experience with high-quality cosmetic parts and finishes in high volume
Track record of material selection and development for products with demanding performance requirements
