Job description

GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION: The Residential Worker is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day function in the house. This includes securing the well-being and safety of the residents. Responsibilities also include keeping up with maintenance and repairs of the house, the vehicle, appliances, and equipment. The Residential Worker reports directly to Program Manager.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
·      Track unusual and major incidents
·      Participates in staff meetings and other meetings as appropriate
·      Responsible for being on-call
·      Performs other related duties as assigned
·      Providing support and guidance to the individuals in the house to ensure the following:
·      That the house, the appliances, the vehicles and the equipment are safe, operational and in good working order.
·      That the fundamental rights of each adult in the house are protected
·      Residential Workers are bound by an 8 hour shift. The following are the specific duties within a job typical X-hour shift. Hours and duties may vary depending upon specific circumstances and will be handwritten and initialed into this employment agreement.
·      Responsible for overseeing all cleaning duties by clients. 
·      Responsible for cleaning anything that have not been completed by the clients.  
· 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required and Preferred Education and Experience:
·       High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
·       Ability to work with diverse populations.
·       Good oral and written English skills.
·       If an individual is in recovery, five-six years of sustained recovery is required.
·       Ability to work well within a team environment.
·       Computer skills: Microsoft Office and web-based application.
·      Ability to answer telephone calls in a professional manner and assists callers
·      The Residential Worker must be at least 25 years 
 
Physical Requirements:
·       Ability to lift 50 pounds
·       Occasionally required to stand and walk.
 
Certificates and Licenses:
·       Valid New Jersey driver’s license and personal automobile and/or access to an automobile.
·       CPR and First Aid
·       Must successfully pass a background check prior to hire.
