Job description

Position Title: Residential Security Agent

Reports to: Director of Operations

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Account: 4949-47 (H3)


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Monitor security systems from a command post within a private family residence as part of a broader Protective Services program

  • Work closely with the Protective Services team, and day to day with family members, business executives, and other colleagues in formal and social settings to provide the highest levels of service and protection

  • Manage access control protocols and ensure security processes are followed.

  • As directed, patrol and inspect all areas of the property and manage onsite and remote surveillance systems

  • Ensure that unauthorized people are not permitted into prohibited areas and complete daily log and incident management records

  • Perform ad hoc and dynamic duties and assignments as directed by the client and management team

  • Respond to any security breaches to safeguard clients and other staff on the property. Initiate response protocols and escalate as necessary

  • Act as mobile support with clients when requested

  • Maintain overnight residential security coverage

  • Conduct perimeter and property checks

  • Monitor suspicious activity and escalate appropriately

  • Ensure client, family, and guest safety

  • Complete shift activity reports and incident documentation

  • Maintain discretion in all client-facing interactions

  • Other duties as assigned


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • A proven understanding of security operations and procedures

  • Residential security experience is preferred

  • Experience working with security technology, in particular CCTV and alarm systems

  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as individually and unsupervised

  • The flexibility to work any assigned shift

  • Capable of working in a dynamic environment

  • Be physically fit and be able to undertake a range of physical tasks associated with a protective role

  • Experience working in a family-based environment

  • First Aid/AED trained

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to interact and communicate effectively with clients and management team

  • A valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle

  • Prior law enforcement experience required

  • Overnight shift experience

  • High discretion and confidentiality standards

  • Must be able to pass a background, driving record check and any other pre-employment requirement as directed by specific clients

  • Valid BSIS Guard Card

  • Valid BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit

Additional Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 3+ years’ experience in law enforcement, or a public/private sector security organization or equivalent years of experience required

  • CCW preferred but not required

  • Active CA BSIS Guard Card

  • Active CA BSIS Exposed Firearms Permit

  • Current CPR / AED certification
