Armed Security Officer (Day Shift, Mon–Fri)

Piedmont Security & Patrol Services, LLC


Location: Outdoor Shopping Center – [Greensboro, North Carolina]
Classification: Full-Time / Armed Position / Night Shift Assignment

Position Overview

Piedmont Security & Patrol Services, LLC is seeking a highly qualified Armed Security Officer for a full-time, weekday assignment at a large outdoor shopping center. This position requires a professional individual capable of maintaining safety, order, and public confidence while performing both foot and vehicle patrols across an active commercial property.

The selected applicant must demonstrate sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to interact professionally with tenants, visitors, employees, and partnering public safety personnel.

Work Schedule

  • Friday through Tuesday (must be willing for days to change)
  • Night shift assignment (3PM to 11PM)
  • Additional hours WILL be required for special events or operational needs with prior approval.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct continuous foot and vehicle patrols of all assigned areas.
  • Provide a visible security presence to deter criminal activity and promote public safety.
  • Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, and calls for service.
  • Observe, detect, and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations.
  • Prepare accurate, detailed written reports and daily activity logs.
  • Assist the public courteously while maintaining professional boundaries.

Enforce property rules, trespass directives, and contractual security requirements.

  • Coordinate effectively with local law enforcement and the Piedmont Company Police Department when necessary.
  • Maintain issued equipment, firearm, uniform, and patrol vehicle in serviceable condition.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Unarmed Security Officer certification through NC PPSB.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Clean criminal history and driving record with no disqualifying convictions.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Armed Security Officer certification through the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board (PPSB).
  • Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related public safety fields.
  • CPR, First Aid, or other relevant certifications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Knowledge of basic security practices, NC criminal statutes applicable to private security, and PPSB requirements.
  • Strong report-writing ability and attention to detail.
  • Professional appearance, demeanor, and interpersonal conduct.
  • Commitment to upholding the standards and expectations of Piedmont Security & Patrol Services, LLC.

Selection Process

Phase II – Command Staff Interview

Phase III – Final Review & Onboarding

Final suitability approval, onboarding paperwork, issuance of uniforms/equipment, and site assignment.
