Position Summary (Assistant Site Manager | Residential Services | Group Home Leadership)


The Assistant Site Manager supports the Site Manager in overseeing the daily operations of a residential program serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role blends direct support, staff supervision, and administrative responsibilities, ensuring high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and a safe, supportive home environment.

You will serve as a key leader on shift—supporting residents, guiding staff, and helping maintain smooth day-to-day operations.


Requirements:

Resident Support & Care

  • Support residents in developing independent living skills, including nutrition, hygiene, money management, and social skills
  • Assist residents with personal care and medical needs
  • Ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of all residents
  • Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation
  • Promote and facilitate community integration and participation
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain precise, accurate, and up-to-date records
  • Complete detailed daily progress notes and shift summary reports
  • Track resident progress toward IHP/ISP goals and document outcomes
  • Utilize electronic systems for documentation, data entry, email communication, and uploading required documents
Transportation
  • Drive agency vehicles to transport residents to medical appointments, community events, and planned activities during assigned shifts
Staff Support & Supervision
  • Assist with supervising residential staff by providing training, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and offering input for evaluations
  • Communicate staffing needs, concerns, or changes to the Site Manager
  • Attend staff meetings and complete all required training sessions
Program & Home Management
  • Support the Site Manager with home/apartment operations, including:
    • Maintaining resident logs
    • Assisting with budgeting and spending oversight
    • Supporting social and recreational planning
    • Ensuring proper maintenance of the home and agency vehicle
    • Facilitating and participating in weekly house meetings
Residential Development
  • Assist with residential development by helping set and achieve resident goals
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager and Interdisciplinary Team to develop and update goals through the IHP/ISP process
  • Complete assignments and special projects as directed by the Site Manager
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check with minimal violations (no provisional restrictions)
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work and be able to drive themselves between work sites when required; must also be comfortable driving agency vans when transporting individuals served
  • At minimum, a high school diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to attend and successfully complete a required two-week, in-office paid training upon hire, as well as maintain annual recertifications
  • Comfortable using computers and agency systems to document thorough, accurate, and detailed reports; log data into electronic systems, check and respond to emails, and upload required documentation
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and other web-based systems
  • Ability to provide professional references during the application process
Physical & Mental Requirements
  • Ability to assist residents with mobility and personal care
  • Lift/Force Requirements:
    • Constant: 10 lbs
    • Frequent: 25 lbs
    • Occasional: 50 lbs
  • Strong judgment, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions while ensuring resident safety
