Residential Program Operator - Cheshire CT


GIL Foundation Inc is seeking a highly dependable, compassionate, and organized Residential Program Operator to manage and support our community-based program. This is a leadership role, focusing on overseeing people, building and maintaining relationships, and delivering on our promises to provide the highest quality support at point of service. The Program Operator works closely with staff and individuals served to ensure services are safe, compliant, and aligned with our longstanding Mission, Vision, and Values. We are searching for a highly committed and dependable Manager for this Community Residence in Cheshire. This is already a great program so a person who has a proven record in human services or a related field and ready to serve in a great organization is needed. If you have served as a Leader, Role Model, or even an Assistant Manager in this field, you likely understand the job. Residential management in this field is very complex and challenging but also super rewarding considering the special individuals and families we serve. The right person in this role will be a hands-on leader responsible for all aspects of Program, Medical, Facility, Operations, and Staff Care and Management. If you are someone who truly has a desire to join a mission based organization, and is friendly, compassionate, and genuinely cares for and appreciates people, then this might just be the right opportunity you. This program consists of five wonderful residents with four in-house day programs. In addition, this program is supported by two Assistants to help supervise, as well as 10-15 Direct Support caregivers responsible for the highest quality of care at point of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily program operations and community based services.
  • Support, supervise, and mentor Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
  • Build strong relationships with individuals served, families, and community partners.
  • Ensure services are person-centered and promote independence and inclusion.
  • Maintain documentation and support compliance with state and agency standards.
  • Maintain scheduling, staff training, and program coordination.
  • Address concerns, incidents, and service needs promptly and professionally.
  • Familiarity with Connecticut DDS regulations.
  • The Residential Program Operator will need to be flexible with their schedule and availability to work due to the nature of 24-hour care for individuals requiring high levels of support in a facility that you might potentially supervise.
  • Someone who can manage the entire program needs (with support of course) including medical, financial, programmatic, recreational, and facility management.
  • Someone who is willing to explore opportunities for personal expression, new experiences, and routine family interaction for our residents is preferred.
  • The Residential Program Operator will receive routine support from two dedicated Assistant Program Managers to assist with program assignments. Subject to Call schedules are shared and rotated between team management, in order to share the workload and reduce the necessary burden.
  • The following certifications will need to be obtained and approved within company policy guidelines:
  • State Medication Administration Certification
  • CPR - Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • PMT - Physical Management Techniques
  • First Aid for Accidents
