Zuern Building Products & Design Center is actively seeking a full time Residential Estimator. Zuern Building Products & Design Center is a family-owned and operated building material supplier and design company. We take pride in our tradition of providing high quality building materials and valuable services to our customers. We are "Building on Service".
Job Summary:
Prepares highly accurate estimates and material lists based on construction blueprints and specifications in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This list is not all-inclusive and may be expanded as management deems necessary.
  • Create highly accurate material takeoffs on various plans (new construction, remodels, additions) through our in-house estimating software
  • Size joists, beams, and headers using manufacturer software
  • Work closely with Estimating team members
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and Coordinators to ensure takeoffs align with project requirements
  • Willingness to listen carefully and comprehend instructions and feedback

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • General working knowledge of the residential construction process and materials
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow specific, detailed instructions
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in basic math and computer applications
  • Professional, reliable, and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications
