Job description

Kingfisher Recruiting has partnered with Ultimate Drafting to find a detail-oriented Drafter to work onsite in Downey, CA. This individual joins a growing design firm focused on residential remodels and additions.


This role is responsible for preparing construction drawings and permit-ready documents that meet agency requirements, building codes, and client expectations.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone with Revit and AutoCAD experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and wants to be part of a collaborative team supporting architectural and construction projects.
The candidate who is hired for this role will have communication skills to meet with customers and will be able to pass our Revit assessment. The assessment will showcase your skills in Revit. This is a hard assessment for many and those who are able to do ground-up quickly in Revit are likely who will pass the assessment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and modify construction documents, elevations, sections, and details using Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • Develop permit-ready drawing sets that meet agency and building code requirements
  • Respond to agency comments and revise plans accordingly
  • Coordinate with clients, engineers, and internal team members
  • Verify existing site conditions through measurements and documentation
  • Maintain and improve drafting standards and documentation processes
  • Manage deadlines and multiple active projects
  • Provide project updates to internal team and clients


Qualifications


Required

  • Minimum 1 year professional experience using Revit
  • Experience producing construction documents and applying drafting standards
  • Currently pursuing or completed degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business software
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation


Preferred

  • Degree in Architecture or Structural Engineering
  • Knowledge of building codes and zoning requirements
  • Experience with as-built measurements and site verification
  • Familiarity with permitting and entitlement processes
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Spanish language skills (a plus)
