About the Role:
St. Peter Do it Best Lumber is looking for a talented Drafter to join our team in St. Peter, MN! In this role, you'll bring residential and commercial building projects to life through precise, professional drafting work that helps customers and contractors turn their visions into reality. If you love design, construction, and making an impact in your community, this is the opportunity for you.
Responsibilities:
  • Produce detailed architectural and structural drawings for residential and commercial building projects
  • Develop accurate floor plans, elevations, and construction documents using CAD software
  • Collaborate with customers, contractors, and sales staff to understand project specifications and requirements
  • Revise and update drawings based on client feedback and project changes
  • Ensure all plans comply with local building codes and industry standards
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for project drawings and documentation
  • Support the sales team by providing material takeoffs and project estimates from completed drawings

Requirements:
  • Experience in architectural or construction drafting, residential and/or commercial preferred
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SoftPlan, or similar programs)
  • Working knowledge of residential and commercial building construction methods and materials
  • Familiarity with local and state building codes and permit requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, clean technical drawings
