About the opportunity
The Director of Sales is responsible for anticipating geographic sales and marketing needs and responding to all requests. This role aspires to achieve individual, department, and overall hotel sales goals through motivation, dedication, knowledge, and determination.
What you'll get to do
* Assists with preparation and analysis of annual Sales & Catering budgets to achieve revenue targets and monitors overall sales budget
* Works in tandem with the Director of Revenue Management on monthly, quarterly, and annual group rooms forecasting and yield management practices
* Recommends sales/pricing strategies, services, and product improvements to stay competitive
* Interviews, selects, schedules, trains, and conducts performance evaluations for Sales Associates
* Establishes team and individual booking and consumption goals for the hotels' Sales Departments and takes a lead role in assisting, coaching, training, motivating, and counseling all Sales Associates
Skills and Experience
* Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
* Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process and requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
* Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications
* Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills, as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required
* Extensive knowledge of sales skills and ability to assess/evaluate employees' performance fairly
* Extensive knowledge of revenue management and ability to recruit, supervise, train, and motivate multiple levels of managers
* Knowledge of hotel and competitive market and ability to analyze data and establish appropriate action plans
