Starkey is adding a Research Lab Assistant at its global headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. The Research Lab Assistant supports the successful execution of clinical research studies by ensuring efficient study operations, accurate documentation, and well-maintained lab environments. This role blends administrative, technical, and operational responsibilities and is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a regulated research setting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage study documentation, including electronic storage of consent forms, database entry, and maintenance of organized study records
  • Oversee lab supply inventory, track stock levels, and coordinate ordering through approved procurement channels
  • Prepare study materials, including assembling binders, printing documents, and organizing participant supplies and paperwork
  • Maintain lab spaces to ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness for active and upcoming studies
  • Perform data entry and support data management activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Export and organize study data for engineering teams using clinical and technical tools
  • Assist the Research Coordinator with participant recruitment and scheduling
  • Complete documentation in accordance with regulatory and study-specific requirements
  • Prepare devices for study use, including test box measurements, data exports, and listening checks
  • Support hearing evaluations as a Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS), if trained and interested
  • Organize and attach raw data to validation reports in alignment with regulatory standards
  • Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTSMinimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements
  • Education
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or similar) preferred

  • Experience/Certification

    • 0-2 years of experience in a laboratory, clinical research, healthcare, or healthcare environments
    • Internship, academic lab, or hands-on project experience is highly valued
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., documentation, record keeping)
    • Experience with data management systems or research tools
    • Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS) certification or willingness to obtain
    • Experience with hearing impaired patients preferred

Knowledge / Technical Requirements
  • Basic understanding of clinical research processes and regulated environments (e.g., documentation standards, data integrity)
  • Familiarity with data entry systems, spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and database tools
  • Experience with participant recruitment and scheduling preferred
  • Ability to learn and utilize clinical and engineering software/tools for data export and analysis
  • Understanding of general lab practices, equipment handling, and safety procedures
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles or willingness to learn
  • Exposure to regulatory requirements related to study documentation (preferred)
  • Basic technical aptitude for preparing and testing devices, including data checks and measurements

Salary and Other Compensation:
The target rate for this position is between $20.36 to $27.76/hr. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
