Job description

Function/Duties of Position
The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a research assistant to help with two projects related to Autism Spectrum Disorder services access. One of the projects is a research survey administered in 4 languages other than English: Spanish, Chinese (simplified and traditional characters), Vietnamese, and Haitian Creole. Candidates who are fully fluent and bilingual reading/writing in one of these languages are preferred. We also will consider candidates who are not bilingual but who have professional or lived experience with disability.
The position will involve enrolling subjects in research studies, maintaining study records, assisting with data analysis, community dissemination, and academic products. The ideal candidate will also have prior educational or work experience in the area of child health, developmental disabilities, medical interpretation, community health, or clinical research. Skills in survey research or basic data analysis using statistical software are also helpful but not required.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in relevant field OR Associate's AND 2 years of relevant experience OR 3 years of relevant experience OR Equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in child health, developmental disabilities, medical interpretation, community health, or clinical research.
  • College-level English reading/speaking/writing.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related field.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, or Haitian Creole.
  • Lived or professional experience with disability, especially autism spectrum disorder.
  • Prior experience with research project management.
  • Prior work experience with immigrant communities is particularly desirable.
  • Skills in survey research or basic data analysis using statistical software are helpful.
