Job description

Our client, a leader in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Lab Technician to join their team. As a Quality Lab Technician, you will be an integral part of the Quality & Food Safety department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to ensuring product safety and quality, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Quality Lab Technician

Location: Rochester, MN

Pay Range: $26-$31/hour

Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 5PM-5AM

What's the Job?

  • Perform routine analytical laboratory testing to support food safety and quality standards.
  • Document work accurately and communicate results promptly to support production and release decisions.
  • Conduct sanitation verification activities, including visual checks and microbiological swabs.
  • Perform CCP and food safety verification checks in accordance with site procedures.
  • Support label verification, packaging controls, and product holds to ensure compliance and prevent mix-ups.

What's Needed?

  • Ability to perform analytical testing using laboratory instruments and approved methods.
  • Strong documentation skills ensuring data integrity and traceability.
  • Excellent communication skills to escalate issues and support team collaboration.
  • Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights.
  • Basic understanding of GMP, safety standards, and food safety regulations.
