Job description

Research Technologist - Neuroimmunology / Translational Research Laboratory

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Technologist to join a translational research laboratory focused on neuroimmunology, biomarker discovery, and development of advanced immunologic assays. The individual in this role will support ongoing research studies through hands-on laboratory work, experimental organization, data analysis, and maintenance of accurate laboratory records.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, intellectually curious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced research environment that bridges basic science and clinical applications.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and advanced laboratory procedures in support of research studies and assay development
  • Prepare reagents, buffers, samples, and laboratory materials
  • Conduct pipetting-intensive experiments and 96-well plate-based assays with precision and consistency
  • Maintain accurate and organized laboratory notebooks and experimental records
  • Assist with optimization, validation, and troubleshooting of laboratory assays
  • Process and organize biological specimens according to laboratory protocols
  • Analyze and organize experimental data using Excel, RStudio, or related software tools
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining laboratory organization
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, trainees, and investigators on ongoing projects
  • Follow all laboratory safety, biosafety, and quality control procedures

  • Demonstrated proficiency with basic laboratory techniques and pipetting
  • Experience working with 96-well plate-based assays or similar experimental workflows
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain thorough and accurate laboratory documentation
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively within a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with human cell lines
  • Experience with flow cytometry
  • Familiarity with immunologic or protein-based assays (ELISA, cell-based assays, immunofluorescence, etc.)
  • Experience with data analysis using RStudio and/or Excel
  • Prior exposure to translational, clinical, or neuroimmunology research environments
  • Experience handling human biological specimens
