Morgan Stanley's Institutional Consulting Solutions (ICS) business, a part of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Client Segments, provides consulting services and solutions to institutional investors, including corporations, foundations, endowments, educational institutions, healthcare organizations, insurers, and Taft-Hartley funds. We work directly with Financial Advisors/Consultants and other key partners across the Firm to drive asset growth and scalable, centralized infrastructure, service models and tooling to ensure best in class support for this growing and complex business. The Fiduciary Consulting Group (FCG), which was formed through the strategic combination of Hyas Group and Cook Street Consulting, is a specialized business that provides bespoke investment consulting and fiduciary solutions to institutional clients throughout the United States (including Puerto Rico) and Canada. Our clients include corporations, government entities, and non-profit organizations, and we specialize in assisting retirement plan sponsors (defined contribution/defined benefit/nonqualified), 529 plans, endowments, foundations, and trusts. Our status as a fiduciary is clearly documented in our consulting agreements.
Position Summary
The Fiduciary Consulting Group's research team is responsible for delineating the ICS FCG investment policy and the research which supports that policy in partnership with the Wealth Management Global Investment Office (GIO). This position within the broader research team will be responsible for ongoing investment due diligence, analysis and reporting to institutional clients, client-facing coordination and client project development/management.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide ongoing investment due diligence, analysis and reporting to institutional clients
  • Investment manager due diligence and selection
  • Asset class research
  • Portfolio construction and asset allocation
  • Asset/liability modeling
  • Driving scalable AI deployment and adoption in investment research
  • Macroeconomic and industry research
  • Client-facing responsibilities and client project development/management
  • Assistance with RFP responses and related activities

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Approximately 4-7 years of previous experience in a similar role within the investment research or consulting industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working directly with clients and producing client-facing research or investment deliverables
  • Experience with Bloomberg, eVestment, and/or Morningstar Direct preferred
  • Experience with AI- and AI-related integrations
  • Desire to progress toward the CFA designation (if not already attained)

Salary range for the position: $85,000 and $140,000 per year. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
